New & current students

Welcome to Reuben College!

We aim to ensure that every individual at Reuben is able to benefit from richness of opportunity in all aspects of their academic, professional and personal lives. A Student Handbook will be provided to incoming students before their arrival to detail all aspects of the student experience and facilities and services provided by the college.

We hope the links below will provide you with all the information you need to prepare for your arrival and settle into life here. If you have any questions or need help with your requirements, your first point of contact is the Academic Office. The Academic Office is responsible for all aspects of student administration handled by the College, starting with the admissions process, continuing through your course and finishing with your graduation ceremony. Your key contacts are:

Our Graduate (Advisory) President, Lauren Bolz, is also available to provide advice and support to incoming students, and for setting up the student-run committee commonly known in Oxford as the Graduate Common Room (or Middle Common Room).

As Reuben’s permanent site continues to undergo redevelopment and refurbishment, the first cohort of Reuben students, its Fellows and staff will benefit from the very generous offer from neighbouring Linacre College to share its grounds, buildings and facilities with them. Reuben students will be able to access library, social, sporting, lunch and dining facilities on a par with Linacre students. Within Linacre, Reuben College will have its own common room and will run its own academic and social programme for 2021-22 (subject to Covid restrictions at the time). If social-distancing permits, during term-time the college will hold a weekly formal hall in Linacre, and an informal weekly dinner at the Natural History Museum.  These dinners will usually preceded with an academic programme, for example, a skills workshop, a seminar or a lecture.   The partnership with Linacre College will provide opportunities for students at both colleges to organise joint as well as dedicated activities. Further information will be provided below as we firm up arrangements for 2021-22. Statement from Heads of House and Student Presidents.
