Professor Kostas Margellos received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2008, and his PhD in Automatic Control from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in November 2012. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, he was a post-doctoral researcher at ETH Zurich, UC Berkeley and Politecnico di Milano, respectively. In 2016, Kostas joined the Control Group at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
Kostas leads a team on control of complex systems, with research activities at the interface of control & optimization, game theory and machine learning. His research is applied to automating charging of electric vehicles, energy management in buildings and shared mobility systems.
