Last year, Reuben College hosted its first in-house Insights Festival, inviting Reuben members to share insights from their research with our wider College community.
This year we will again celebrate the remarkable work of our students and Fellows with a day of presentations, exhibitions, and free food and drinks. It provides a fantastic opportunity to practice presentation and public engagement skills in a friendly environment.
Applications are invited for participants to present their research or interests in one of two ways:
- Either as a 5 minute performance: some examples from previous events include musical performances, dance, or 20:20 style talks (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide)
- Or as a table-top stall for longer, 1:1 engagement for the duration of the event: previously we’ve had interactive models of wombs, arthritis gloves, a guess who game about bees, and a robot etc.
Successful applicants will be given a Reuben Fellow mentor to discuss their presentation/performance before the event to help you optimise it for communicating with a wide audience.
