Xiaoying Irene Wu is a DPhil student in Applied Linguistics at the University of Oxford, where she also completed her MSc in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition (Distinction).
Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Hong Kong and the University of Oxford. Her research interests include debate and speaking pedagogy, classroom interaction, critical thinking, and argumentation, particularly the integration of higher-order thinking skills into second and foreign language learning.
She is also the President of the Oxford University Tea Appreciation Society (@oxforduniteasoc), a university-wide society that hosts tea events, usually on Sunday afternoons during term time.
