Sonal is pursuing an MBA at Oxford's Saïd Business school. She is a recipient of the Laidlaw scholarship, a fully funded award for women leaders who have a passion for gender equality and have demonstrated their commitment to leading change in their sector.
Prior to the MBA, Sonal began her career in healthcare consulting, advising on data-driven strategies for oncology markets. However, her passion for social change soon led her to pivot to women-focused projects in some of India’s most underserved regions, sparking her commitment to designing gender-inclusive products and interventions that address deep-rooted inequalities.
Over the past few years, Sonal has specialized in investments in women’s sexual and reproductive health, mobilizing blended finance, debt, grants, and equity to scale impactful healthcare solutions in India. She has partnered with diverse stakeholders—including startups, investors, NBFCs, and NGOs—to channel philanthropic, private, and development capital into underserved communities. Her focus lies in using innovative financing to address socio-economic and health outcomes for vulnerable populations, including women, adolescents, and queer communities.
At Saïd Business school, she sits on the commitee for OWLA (Oxford Women in Leadership Alliance) and also co-chairs the school's Social Finance Club.
