Max Brzezicki

Biography

I am a DPhil student and an academic junior doctor interested in neurosurgery, artificial intelligence, space medicine, and rare diseases. My work focuses on objective quantification of neurological disorders, treatment for rare parkinsonian diseases and the use of AI in clinical practice. I want to achieve this by blending engineering and medicine to produce equipment and analytical models that can assess Parkinsonian diseases in terms of movement, cognition, memory, and executive function. With these tools, I am able to locate parts of the brain that don't work and produce better ways of fixing it. I trained in medicine at Bristol (clinical) and Oxford (academic) and I continue my academic clinical training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. I've been recognised for several clinical, academic and teaching achievements, including National Clinical Neurosciences Award, Harvey Cushing Gold Medal, BGS, Arctic Medicine, and Wellcome Trust scholarships. I love rowing, playing rugby, cooking, and trekking in the wilderness. I spend my free time building electronic brains, studying fallen civilizations and wearing Icelandic sweaters. Fun fact? I can order pizza in 10 languages, including 3 dead ones.
