Felicity Waite

Biography

Dr Felicity Waite is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. The focus of her work is developing more effective psychological therapies for people with psychosis and young people at risk of serious mental health problems.

Her research takes a mechanistic, translational science approach with a focus on implementation from the outset - often incorporating innovations in technology, such as virtual reality. The new treatments, developed in collaboration with people with lived experience of the problems, are then tested in large clinical trials ready for implementation in the NHS.

Within the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, she works on understanding, measuring, and modifying mechanisms underpinning mental health problems in children and young people as part of the Mental Health in Development theme.

Felicity completed her clinical psychology training at the University of Oxford and received the British Psychological Society May Davidson Award in 2022.
