Sophie Brixton

Biography

Sophie is a DPhil student at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology researching the structure, lifecycle and host interactions of Zika virus, supervised by Professor Sumana Sanyal. Prior to starting at Oxford, she completed an MSci in Natural Sciences at the University of Exeter, where she undertook a term abroad at the Technical University of Denmark. Her 18-month Masters project focussed on the transient epigenetic regulation of bacterial aggregation and biofilm formation.

Alongside her academic pursuits, Sophie is the Co-President of the Reuben College Art Society, a keen member of the College Boat Club and a leader at the 10th Oxford Cub pack, and enjoys hiking, bouldering, reading and all forms of arts and crafts!
