Laura del Alisal

Biography

DPhil candidate in History with an interdisciplinary background in the humanities and specialised in digital methodologies. Her research investigates how ideas of liberty were transmitted and transformed during the revolutionary period of the late nineteenth century in Spain and Cuba, and how these shifting ideas shaped political action. She integrates coding and AI tools for text analysis and historical data visualisation, combining digital approaches with traditional historical inquiry.

Alongside her academic work, she brings five years of teaching and pastoral experience in both secondary and higher education in the UK and India, with a commitment to holistic education and student welfare. She is also passionate about public engagement with history and the humanities through diverse formats and media.

At Reuben College, she serves as Welcome Officer of the GCR and is currently training as a Peer Supporter.
