Dali Lemon-Morgan

Biography

Dali is a first year DPhil student on the NERC Doctoral Training Partnership and supported by a scholarship from Reuben College.

Her research, based in the department of Women's and Reproductive Health, focuses on improving ovarian tissue cryopreservation to support fertility preservation in endangered mammals. In collaboration with Dr. Suzannah Williams, this project investigates how metabolic conditioning prior to cryoprotectant exposure can enhance oocyte survival post-cryopreservation. In partnership with Chester Zoo, the research aims to develop species-specific cryopreservation protocols that can be used to safeguard reproductive potential and genetic diversity in non-model and threatened species.

Dali holds a First-Class Honours degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol, where she developed a strong interest in reproductive biology and conservation science. Her previous work includes studying insect behaviour and fertility in the context of climate change, as well as field research with The Guppy Project in Trinidad and Tobago and work as a seasonal ecologist at Jacobs, contributing to environmental assessments.

Outside of research, Dali is the Social Secretary for Reuben College Rowing Club, helping organise events and foster a sense of community. At Oxford, Dali is excited to apply her passion for reproductive biology and conservation to help protect endangered species and preserve biodiversity.
