Veronika is a Schmidt AI in Science Fellow, working on the development and application of ML and AI in modelling chemical processes in solution.
She obtained her BSc. and MSc. from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, where she worked on the development of methodologies to model absorption and ionization spectra in solution. Afterwards, she moved to Switzerland to pursue her PhD in Chemistry at EPFL, studying modelling non-covalent interactions and chemical processes in condensed phase by neural network potentials.
She moved to Oxford in 2022 as a Postdoctoral researcher, supported by the Postdoc.Mobility fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Finally, in 2024 she received the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Fellowship to continue her work on ML and AI, focusing on the application of ML-based force fields in reaction modeling and understanding reaction mechanisms in sustainable solvents.
