Katarina Vukosavljević

Biography

I am an EPSRC-funded DPhil student on the Big Data Institute's Health Data Science CDT programme. Katarina is an EPSRC-funded DPhil student on the Big Data Institute's Health Data Science CDT programme.

Before she started her DPhil, she has obtained a MEng in Engineering Science from Oxford, St Hugh's College. For her master thesis, she worked with Oxford Martin School's AGENDA team and focused on developing a neural network for IED detection to aid the epilepsy diagnostic process in low- and middle-income countries. Through internships in academia and industry, she has also gained experience in areas such as NLP, Computer Vision, and Software Engineering. After she completed her CDT training year, she has moved to the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, where she be develops multi-modal fusion models for temporal EHR data. Her research interests lie broadly in applying deep learning methods in healthcare, specifically early diagnostics.

Currently, she is also a College Lecturer in Engineering Science at Keble College, where she teaches Electrical Engineering and Energy Systems to undergraduate students.

When she is not working, you will probably find her doing fun things with her friends. She also likes to spend her free time running, painting, or playing the flute!
