College Welfare Information for Wednesday 22 December 2021 to Tuesday 4 January 2022

During the Christmas period, most college staff will be on leave from Thursday 23 December 2021 to Tuesday 4 January 2022. Below you will find key welfare information applicable for this period.

Details of a variety of resources for over the vac have collated by the University here.

Medical emergency cases should as ever go direct to appropriate emergency services.

The Farndon Court Caretaker, Ray, will be available standard hours (8-4pm weekdays) until 3pm on the 24th December. Ray will also be available 08.00-16.00 29th & 30th December, and on 31st December up until 3pm. Regular hours will resume from the 4th January.

Outside of these hours, residents with emergency facilities issues should contact: Oxford Security Services on 01865 751605 (07709 984797).

Should other college-based support be needed, students are advised to call the Linacre reception [01865 271650] for out-of-hours support (to whom we have given a rota of out of hours contact).

However, between 6:00pm 24th December - 08:30 29th December and 6:00pm on 31st December - 08:30 4th January, students should phone 07564 045426. This will ring through to the College’s Senior Tutor, who will check this mailbox once a day to triage.

Unlike other countries around the world where shops remain open, please also note that most (if not all) shops will be closed on 25th and 26th  December, and will have reduced hours on 24th December, so ensure that you have your food shopping done and any necessary medication for the weekend in advance. Make sure to check the relevant shops’ websites for opening hours over the Christmas period. This also affects transport, so if you do need to travel, check before for any changes to regular services, and make sure any travel is done in line with current national Covid-19 regulations.
