Success for Reuben College in Town & Gown 10k Race

On Sunday 8th May, an impressive 18 runners took part in the Town & Gown 10k run.

Oxford Town and Gown was started in 1982 by local runners as a fun run to raise fund for muscular dystrophy, and all profits from the race go to Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK). The unique route is the only closed-road City Centre 10k in Oxford, with a stretch along the River Cherwell and finishing in the University Parks.

The fastest Reuben runner was Fellow Stuart Wilkinson, with an admirable time of 44 minutes, mere days after the birth of his fourth child which is quite the feat! In second was GCR President Elliot Barbeary, and following closely behind was Fellow Peter Drobac. Reuben College President Lionel Tarassenko finished in a binary code time of 01:11:11, which is very fitting for his role as AI & ML Theme Lead!

Most impressive, though, is the total raised for Muscular Dystrophy UK by Team Reuben - £1087 for a very worthy cause, and a sizable target for next years runners to beat!
