Second Cohort of Students Join Reuben College

Reuben College is delighted to welcome just over 100 freshers to the College this October, constituting our second cohort.

Students are reading over 50 different courses over all divisions of the university, drawn from over 30 different countries of residence. Part-time and full-time students alike will be welcomed to a smorgasbord of activities organised by the College and its enterprising second-year students now leading the way.

Amongst the intake, the College will be welcoming 18 new Oxford-Reuben scholars in conjunction with partners including Black Academic Futures, AfOx, Clarendon, the Ukraine Scholarship Scheme, and UKRI. They will join over a dozen Oxford-Reuben scholars who are continuing into their second year.

The new students join a reinvigorated fellowship, with appointments to Global Research Fellows in conjunction with KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme shortly to be announced. Reuben’s dedicated staff are delighted to have recently been joined by Avalon Floyd and Leema Chapman, capably supporting the Academic Office.

Senior Tutor Caroline Mawson says, ‘We’re delighted to welcome this new cohort to their new Reuben home. Reuben is eager to support each and every one of its new students as they embark upon new phases in their study. We seek to provide a home, a place for experiment, for failure, and for the fulfilment of aspirations and dreams through the myriad different paths these talented individuals will choose to take.’
