Gemma Hughes


Gemma Hughes is a researcher in the Interdisciplinary Research in Health Sciences Group at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. Gemma is curious about how to improve interactions between patients and public services. She carries out qualitative research into the relationships between policy, practice and technologies, and has extensive prior experience of working in the NHS and the public sector in the UK. Gemma has an interdisciplinary background, she gained her DPhil in Evidence-Based Health Care from the University of Oxford in 2019, she holds an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and a BA in Philosophy and Literature. She enjoys taking part in public engagement in research, learning from and collaborating with people from different disciplines, sectors and backgrounds.
